Just an update on my mom. She has been back in the hospital two more times. In fact, she is there right now. She actually got to come home for one night in-between the two stays. BUT, they (the ubiquitous *they*) would not let her go home with bi-pap machine. She has been on O2 for so long that she is retaining CO2 and the machine helps her to exhale and get rid of it. We have been told this time that she will not be discharged until Medicare approves the machine. She is also having trouble with an infection, started out as a UTI but she also has the same bug in her left parotid gland (salivary gland in the jaw) and now her left arm is swelling and red. They did an ultrasound on it yesterday but we don’t have the results yet. Sorry I don’t have better news. Although, her vital signs are good, blood pressure, O2, etc.

We had a couple of really beautiful days here in Tennessee. Trees are starting to bud and the grass is starting to grow. I love spring. Only because I really hate winter. I live for the cold weather to go AWAY!!!

Emma has her Standard Achievement Tests this week. Pray for her as she undergoes these tests.

Emma was supposed to go to Jamaica this month on a mission trip with her school, Crossroads Christian Academy.  She had not been feeling well all week and even got on the bus headed to Atlanta’s Hartsfield Airport not feeling well.  On the trip, she kept feeling worse and we all decided that it was best that she not leave the country in her condition.  Tony and I drove all night to the outskirts of Atlanta to pick her up and bring her back home.  She was very disappointed yet feels that it was perhaps not God’s timing for her to go on the trip.  She is feeling better now.  Thank you for everyone’s support.

Oh, and I almost forgot!  Tony’s boss at John H. Daniels Co. invited us to go out with him to his shooting range.  We had a GREAT time.  We all got to shoot some awesome guns.  Well, actually Tony got to shoot alot of awesome guns.  Emma and I were a little more like scaredy-cats.  Although, Emma shot more different types than I did.  We took our .22 which Emma and I shoot quite a bit.  I always said that I wouldn’t have a gun in my house that I couldn’t shoot!  Anyway, I also shot a .38 caliber.  Emma shot the .38 and a .45 and maybe some others, I am not sure.  Tony shot those and others including a sniper rifle!  He was excited.  He LOVES guns.  I guess it is a guy thing. Anyway, I’ve got some pictures.  But I will have to upload them later.  We can’t do that from our house for some UNKNOWN reason!

Emma will be starting school on August 11th.  She will be attending Crossroads Christian Academy again this fall.  It is a homeschool cooperative so we will be homeschooling again this year.  It is a really cool school.  There is much emphasis placed on developing their own individual walk with God.  And surprisingly, there is also alot of emphasis placed on the arts.  The founder is a lady named Drew Guetermann (the wife of pro-baseball player Lee Guetermann) and it is her desire for these kids to use their talents to glorify God.  Hollywood (theater and arts in general) use their talents to glorify evil.  It is our desire that these children develop their talents to bring glory to God, their Creator and the One who gifted them.  Pray for Emma as the school year starts and for me that I can teach her both academically and spiritually.
