Well, another milestone has come and gone. Emma’s prom for this year is now only a memory! It seems so sad because we spent almost a whole year in planning. She bought her prom dress for this year back in January! AND I do believe that she already knows what kind of dress she wants for her Senior Prom. This year the prom was held at the Riverwalk Grille at Carmichael Inn in Loudon County, Tennessee. It is a beautiful restaurant with a lovely downtown/fountain/park area surrounding it. We took soooo many pictures. During the event, they voted for different “Best __________.” Emma won best hair. That in itself has a funny story behind it. On the afternoon of the prom, Emma and several of her girlfriends went to a hairstylist near their school. She was going to do all their hair and most of their makeup. After dropping Emma off, I had to go run an errand. When I returned, the stylist had been working on Emma’s hair. Now mind you, we had just washed and dried it the night before. To “do” prom hair, it needs to be clean but it cannot be washed the day of the styling or it is too soft. So to begin with, it was clean and shiny. When I walked back into the salon, Emma’s hair looked like she had been in a wind tunnel with about 10 cans of aerosol hairspray that was now residing in her hair. It looked dirty and absolutely awful! We tried to get her to fix it, and she did try but she just wasn’t listening to us. So we finally just had to leave and she still charged us $40.00! So then we had to run back home from Lenoir City to Greenback, which we were not planning on doing, and fix Emma’s hair for prom. Actually, Emma did it, there was no “we.” And she did a fabulous job. Consequently, she won “Best Hair.”
So I thought I would post a few of the better pictures for you all to view. Hope you enjoy!
